2017 for WI COS Patriots

As always feel free to call 414-750-0327 or email me joanne.laufenberg@cosaction.com with questions?
Joanne Laufenberg - State Director

Next up...various listening sessions have been occurring back in your districts.  If you need help finding them just call their offices at the capitol and ask them where to register for e-updates.  Many are listed on the legis.wisconsin.gov web site...

Senator Fitzgerald's Listening Sessions - May 8, 18th and 22nd (see SE-WI locations at link below)

http://legis.wisconsin.gov/senate/13/fitzgerald/media/1371/web.pdf
Our Legislative Liaison, Brian Higgins plans to attend a couple of these.  Contact him at 262-370-9450 or brian.higgins2@gmail.com for specifics, if you'd like an expert to accompany you.

State GOP Caucus - May 12-14th - Registration is closed!

Chula Vista Resort - Wisconsin Dells
Registration is open until May 5th for many of the events within the convention.  See below...
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2017-republican-party-of-wisconsin-state-convention-tickets-32068346287
(Also let's not leave out the DNC.  In Hawaii we have an all democratic cast of cosponsors introducing our resolution.)

New Richmond Gun Show - May 19-20th...

Contact VCD daniel.gumbert@cosaction.com or 715-704-0161.

Colfax Car Show - May 21st

Contact VCD Daniel.gumbert@cosaction.com or 715-704-0161.

WI COS State Team Building and Game Plan - May 27th 11-2pm

Franklin Business Park Business Park 9850 S 54th St, Franklin, WI 53132.  Will try to do these in other areas, but we can set up an online meeting for distant eager beavers.  ;)  RSVP to james.joneswi@cosaction.com or 262-894-2311.

Northern Wisconsin State Fair - July 12-16th

Contact VCD Daniel.gumbert@cosaction.com or 715-704-0161.  Is anyone available July 12-16th in Chippewa Falls? In order to get the vendor fee handled, we need to show we have sufficient coverage. Daniel is planning to be there every day, but needs some relief and it's way more fun to do this in a group.

Wisconsin Action Prompt

Wisconsin Action Prompt

The grassroots are the key to victory -- high numbers ensure success. So are you ready to talk to your friends about the Convention of States Project?

Join our team as a District Captain!

Our goal is to find one District Captain in every Wisconsin state house district. The District Captain's mission is simple: find 100 people in your district willing to contact their state legislators in support of Convention of States legislation next session.

It doesn't take a huge time commitment to make a difference. Five constituent phone calls is often enough to move an issue to the top of a state legislator's priority list. In person meetings are even more effective.

Get involved today by reaching out to your state legislators. Don't know what to say?

Download talking points here.

If you'd like a Convention of States leader to attend a meeting with you and your legislator, contact your WI Legislative Liaison.

Polite Plea to Chris Kapenga Needed Right Now!

kapenga2square.jpg

It's Go Time!

1.  Everyone please call Senator Chris Kapenga's office (800-863-8883 & 608-266-9174).  Thank him for "becoming the WI article v expert" and politely ask him to "introduce our cosaction.com application along with his Balanced Budget Amendment".

2. Mail a note politely repeating yourself (with your contact info and address of residence listed on your letter, in case the envelope is lost or tossed):
Mailing Address:
Senator Chris Kapenga P.O. Box 7882, Madison, 53707-7882

3. Plan a trip to Madison on February 7th.  Do what you can and BE NICE.
PLEASE NO SWEARING OR RUDENESS.  WE'LL CATCH MORE FLIES WITH HONEY.
Details for #3 to follow.

4. Ask others to do the same.

If you haven't made your specific coscaucus.com application support clear to your own legislators, you can look them up on this page by entering your address in the upper right hand corner:   http://maps.legis.wisconsin.gov/.

Phone calls and physical mail are regarded more highly than emails; so http://lc.legis.wisconsin.gov/media/1041/citizen_contact_legislator.pdf explains how to engage with the legislative process with P.O. Boxes for specific groups of assemblyman, etc.
