Broken But Unbowed

Governor Abbott Announces Book on His Life, and the Convention of States

On April 4th, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the upcoming publication of his first book, entitled "Broken But Unbowed", from Threshold Editions.

The book details the Governor's life story, and his promotion of the Convention of States as the means to combat an overreaching federal government.  The announcement comes just three months after the Governor's call for the Texas Legislature to join with other states in calling for a "Convention of States".

The Governor will also embark on a book tour to promote both the book and the Convention of States after the book's release on May 17th.

Texas News

Lonestar Welcome

Among the most common momentum killers are "settling for the status quo", "not listening", and "forgetting those you were elected to serve".

The Texas House of Representatives demonstrates these characteristics by killing the momentum of priority legislation, like the Convention of States!

Consider these facts:
- January 31 - Texas Governor Greg Abbott declares the Convention of States one of his four Emergency Items
- February 28 - The Texas Senate passes the Convention of States resolution, SJR2, and sends it to the Texas House

And after 4 weeks - our legislation sits, in legislative limbo!

Meanwhile, in less than two weeks, Arizona and North Dakota have become states #9 and #10 to pass their Convention of States resolutions. As many as 5 more states could pass before Texas. Is this leadership? We think this is unacceptable!

When we ask "why are you waiting?", we hear answers like "we know this doesn't make sense, but this is how the Texas House works", or "Senate legislation waits on House business first".

Do you believe that it's time for the Texas House to ACT? We do!

And here's the Texas State Representatives Directory for their phone number.

Thank you joining us in this battle. Together, we will get this legislation passed, and Texas Will Lead!
