Maryland Introduces Convention of States Resolutions

Exciting news in Maryland!  We now have two joint resolutions that have been introduced in the Maryland General Assembly, one in the Senate and one in the House of Delegates. Senate Resolution SJ4 is sponsored by Senator Gail Bates (District 9) and the House of Delgates Resolution HJ3 is sponsored by Delegate Tony McConkey (District 33).  Click on each of the resolution numbers to find the contact information for the sponsors and co-sponsors and thank them for supporting this historic effort.  If your senator or delegate is not listed as a co-sponsor, please call them and ask them to become co-sponsors!

These two resolutions seek an amendment-proposing convention of the states to restore our Republic and they conform with the resolutions filed in 38 states in 2015 and already passed in 5 states.  Resolutions SJ4 and HJ3 sets the agenda of the meeting to consider amendments that "impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress."

The process has officially begun, and we will be keeping you updated at every step along the way. Get ready for more exciting news as it breaks and be prepared to support us at the upcoming public hearings!
