Volunteers take the day at Indianapolis!
With the help of many volunteers, Convention of States Indiana has kicked off the 2016 legislative season with an incredible victory!
Pictured above are the two young men who stole the show at our committee hearing. On the left is Case, from Indiana Wesleyan University. On the right is Sam, an 18 year old high school student. It must have been intimidating to walk into that room and testify. They both gave compelling, articulate and optimistic testimony regarding the Convention of States Project. Even our biggest opponent gave them kudos and said they must have wonderful parents.Read more
This is an exciting time for COS as our Resolution SJR14 heads into a committee hearing Monday Jan 25th, at 9:00 am. Unfortunately we have learned that your Senator, James Buck will vote NO and refuses to support SJR14. This could be the deciding vote to stop us dead in our tracks!Read more
COS SURGE AT THE STATEHOUSE- January 12, 2016
Last Wednesday we completed our first COS SURGE at the Statehouse and secured more support. Volunteers came from all over the state to hand deliver educational articles regarding COS. We wore COS buttons and became a visual cue to everyone in the building. We had several success stories including one volunteer, William Fenley of Greensburg who took the day off work to join us. William notified his legislator that he was in the building and would like to speak with her. She made time for an appointment along with COS leadership and discussed our plan. She is in agreement and will vote YES! That is self governance IN ACTION. Constituents showing up IN PERSON speaks volumes about the importance of our issue.Read more
