It is critically important that we make state legislators aware of the solution available to them in Article V of the Constitution, and encourage them to use it. If your organization supports this mission and would like to endorse the Convention of States Project, please sign the petition below.
This petition is designed for use by organizations. If you do not have authority to sign on behalf of your organization, please do not complete it. A petition for private individuals is available here.
Volunteers from the Convention of States Project will deliver your petition to the appropriate legislators in your state. We encourage you to follow up with them and express your support for a Convention of States directly.
Thank you for your commitment to restoring constitutional government!
The federal government is on a dangerous and unsustainable course. It is time for state legislatures to restore meaningful constitutional limits on the federal government.
Article V of the United States Constitution gives state legislatures the power to act as a final check on Washington, D.C. Under Article V, state legislatures have authority to hold a limited convention that can propose much-needed amendments to our Constitution. Once 34 state pass a resolution applying for a convention, Congress must call one.
The Convention of State Project seeks to call an Article V convention for the limited purpose of restraining the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.
Our organization has studied this approach, and we support it. We are actively working to further the Convention of States Project on a local level.
We want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of Article V Convention. We ask that you support the Convention of States Project and consider sponsoring the resolution in our state.
Copies of the model resolution and the Convention of States handbook are available at www.conventionofstates.com.
Thank you for your service to the people of our state.
