**** THIS A CALL-TO-ACTION FOR ALL COLORADO COS SUPPORTERS FROM REGIONAL DIRECTOR BOB BERRY ****
We are well into the 2016 legislative session in Colorado and, to date, the COS Resolution has not been filed in either the House or the Senate. Instead, our legislators have received a constant barrage of disinformation from Rocky Mountain Gun Owners (RMGO/NAGR) and other assorted ‘runaway’ conspiracy extremists.
It's time for our legislators to hear from us!
I want to urge you to call AND email your legislators and encourage them to get in touch with our Legislative Liaison, Betsy McCain.
When you call your Representative and Senator, please be positive, polite, and upbeat. Tell them you want to stand with them as they do the right thing.
The COS Resolution that has been moved in 30 other states this year and now it's our turn!
Here is why this is so important. We need to see who will stand with us and who won’t. It's really that simple. Please call your Representative AND Senator and then follow up with an email.
Here’s what to do:
Step 1: Click here to Identify your Representative and Senator, then click on each to reveal their phone number:http://openstates.org/find_your_legislator/
Step 2: Call the legislators at the number listed (after hours voicemails work great too!). Make sure you identify yourself as a constituent of THAT particular legislator. Ask them to contact our COS Colorado Legislative Liaison, Betsy McCain at 303-335-7228.
Step 3: Now that you've identified your legislators, follow up by sending them an email. You may consider writing something like this:
Subject: Please Introduce the Convention of States (COS) Resolution!
I am writing to let you know that I am your constituent and an avid supporter of the Convention of States Resolution which demands that Congress call an Article V Convention of States to “impose fiscal restraints on the Federal Government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the Federal Government and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress.”
This resolution has been introduced in 30 other states in 2016, but not in Colorado! Please contact the Convention of States Legislative Liaison for Colorado to sponsor this resolution:
I want to personally thank you for helping us with this call to action. If you are interested in getting more involved with our efforts, you can learn more by visiting our page at www.conventionofstates.com.
