Please Support SJ4, Your Constitutional Duty

 Email_Now_Button.png

Senator,

The Constitution of the United States, the document which established our federal republic and enshrined the protections provided to the states and the citizens against a tyrannical and over-reaching federal government, has been eroded over the years by a power hungry group of political elites in Washington, D.C.  Our elected officials in Washington, D.C., both Republicans and Democrats, appear to be unwilling or incapable of conducting themselves within the limits set forth within the Constitution.  The clearly defined roles of the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Judicial Branch have become blurred to the point where unelected bureaucrats are essentially making laws through regulations, the President is creating laws through executive orders, the Congress relinquishes its legislative responsibilities, and the Supreme Court creates laws out of thin air.

The Constitution provided an additional check on the system, in addition to the checks provided on the three branches of the federal government, and that is the states.  It is your responsibility and your duty to use the power granted in Article V of the Constitution for this specific purpose, to rein in the federal government.  I ask that you please fulfill your duty by supporting SJ4.

Sincerely,

Please Pass SJ4, I Want You to Represent Me

Senator,

The consolidation of power in Washington, D.C. is having a destructive impact on our country and our state.  Almost every aspect of civil life within Maryland is now controlled, or heavily influenced by, legislators whom I did not vote for or support.  Why should a representative from Texas or North Carolina make the decisions that affect Marylanders on every detail of our lives when they do not share our values?  What is the purpose of the Maryland General Assembly, if they are merely carrying out decisions made elsewhere? Mandates and regulations are dictated by the federal government on almost every aspect of our lives, to include: state highways, education, wages, agriculture, taxes, health care, production, and business to name a few. Most of these items are things which are reserved in the Constitution and the 10th Amendment as being the sole responsibility of the states, yet the states have allowed the federal government to usurp the states’ responsibilities.

Please return the voice to Marylanders and allow us true representation in the things that affect our daily lives.  I want my state legislators, like you, to make the decisions that impact my community, not someone who I have absolutely no influence over.  Article V of the Constitution was written to give the state legislators the ability to assert their influence over the federal government.  Specifically, it provided the states with the ability to circumvent Congress by calling for a Convention of States to rein in the federal government when that time inevitably came.  That time is now! And now I ask you to fulfill your duty and vote for SJ4.

Sincerely,

Please Pass SJ4 to Save Our Children’s Future

 Email_Now_Button.png

Senator,

Almost everyone, Democrat and Republican, knows that our national debt is unsustainable, yet no one in Washington, D.C. appears to be capable or willing to put a stop to the ever increasing growth of our debt.  Time after time, we have voted in new elected representatives in Congress and the White House after hearing their promises to curb the debt.  Yet the debt continues to increase.  Please consider our children and grandchildren.  The price that they will have to pay for our greed is simply unfair.  We have tried to solve this problem by elections without success.  It is obvious that the system is broken in Washington.  The bureaucracy and cronyism in Washington has caused this problem, and we can no longer sit back and wish they would fix it.  You are our last hope to fix the problem before we destroy completely our children’s future.

There is no more time for the political parties to continue their petty squabbles.  I ask that you, as our elected representative, take bold and decisive action and support SJ4 in calling for an Article V Convention of States with the purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution which will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government before it is too late.

Sincerely,

Be a Part of the Solution and Pass SJ4

Senator,

Please do not be a part of the downfall of our great nation.  It would be, quite frankly, a lie to pretend that anyone believes that a $19 Trillion debt that continues to grow will not lead to the nation’s eventual collapse if it is not abated.  It would be irresponsible to pretend that Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid is not headed for bankruptcy.  So why do the elected leaders in Washington, D.C. continue to ignore the inevitable?  How could this end anyway other than disaster?  Why do they continue to make false promises that anyone who understands the laws of economics knows, is impossible to fulfill?  It will come to an end one way or another.  Either our state leaders step in, as is their responsibility under Article V of the Constitution, and remedy this impending disaster, or they do nothing and allow the disaster to continue to become a reality.  There is a reason that great civilizations rise and then fall; because leaders fail to lead and become complacent. Please stop the destruction of our great country by supporting SJ4 and calling for a Convention of States for the purpose of amending the Constitution to require the federal government to stop the obvious insanity of their fiscal irresponsibility.

Sincerely,

APPEAR IN PERSON

In addition to the phone calls and e-mails, please consider taking time off work and showing up in person at the hearing to demonstrate your support for SJ4.  We will need to make a dramatic impression upon the Senators and we cannot do that without a large turnout. The hearing will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Suite 2 West of the Miller Senate Office Building, located at 11 Bladen Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.

So that we can get a good idea of how many are willing to attend the hearing, please e-mail director.md@cosaction.com if you are planning to attend the hearing.  We do need everyone we can muster, so hopefully we will see you there.
