Alabama

A big THANK YOU to all our state grassroots supporters for ALL the hard work that was done and for answering our Calls to Action statewide.

Your calls and emails played a huge part in helping PASS the Convention of States template resolution during the 2015 legislative session. The passage of this resolution makes Alabama the first state in 2015 and joins us with the other states (Georgia, Florida, and Alaska) that have now applied under the provisions of Article V of the Constitution of the United States, for the calling of a convention of the states limited to proposing amendments to the Constitution of the United States that impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress.

We are very proud that our Great State of Alabama is now part of this historic effort to use the solution given to us by the founders to rein in an absolutely power-drunken and out of control federal government.

The grassroots are the key to victory -- high numbers ensure success. So are you ready to talk to your friends about the Convention of States Project?

Join our team as a District Captain!

Our goal is to find one District Captain in every Alabama state house district. The District Captain's mission is simple: find 100 people in your district willing to contact their state legislators in support of Convention of States legislation next session.

It doesn't take a huge time commitment to make a difference. Five constituent phone calls is often enough to move an issue to the top of a state legislator's priority list. In person meetings are even more effective.

Get involved today by reaching out to your state legislators. Don't know what to say?

If you'd like a Convention of States leader to attend a meeting with you and your legislator, contact your state’s legislative liaison.

Alabama joins Florida, Georgia, and Alaska and passes the Convention of States resolution

The Alabama state motto is “We dare defend our rights,” and that sentiment was on display May 21st in the Alabama State Capitol.

Earlier this afternoon, Alabama became the first state in 2015 to pass the Convention of States application to limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.
